The department of Languages was founded in 1945 since the foundation of the Institute.

The first head of the department was Mark Levin, later it was run by the candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Anahit Ghazaryan, assistant professor Knarik Chernova, assistant professor Stella Alaverdyan.

The following specialists are worthy of mention Seda Aslanyan, Lyubov Eghiazaryan, Nora Vardanova, Roza Ter-Margaryan, Karine Danielyan, Ruben Ghulyan - candidate of Philological Sciences, assistant professor, known expert on the works of A. Dante.
